The Manager is responsible for assisting in the development of key strategic initiatives across the company. The position works directly with the Executive Leadership Team to refine the company’s current strategy and to execute special strategic projects. Specific responsibilities include:
1.) Support the development and monitoring of key strategic initiatives;
2.) Conduct specialized analysis for a wide variety of strategic questions that span the breadth of the organization from growth strategies to realization of full-potential opportunities in the core business;
3.) Maintain a strategic factbase (market, competitors, trends, etc.) that shapes executive decision-making;
4.) Execute acquisitions and divestitures.
The group is combined with the company’s Financial Planning and Analysis group, and a Manager of Strategic Business Development may be responsible for a varying degree of planning, forecasting and analysis work.
Key Responsibilities:
Support annual strategic planning process: Assist business leaders in the development and communication of specific initiatives that will drive the overall corporate strategy; and support monthly reviews of key strategic imperatives
- Provide market and competitive business intelligence: Monitor and assess macro trends in the marketplace; and maintain competitive overviews using publically available information – both financial and strategic -- and routine site visits

- Conduct ad hoc analysis and provide recommendations on a wide variety of strategic business decisions important to the Executive Leadership Team; examples include: Acquisitions or divestitures, Benchmarking (intra and inter-company), Operational decisions across the company

- Financial Planning and Analysis: Maintain consolidated company forecasts: income statement, cash flow, and balance sheet. Prepare and interpret various analyses of company results. Financial planning and target setting. Five to seven year financials models for the overall company
